How the fee structure works #
- Platform Commission
This is a percentage fee applied to completed sales. It is normally calculated on the product price before tax and helps support platform maintenance, seller support, security, and marketing. (Waived during your 0% launch period.) - Payment Processing Fees
Our payment provider applies transaction processing fees to each order. These fees vary depending on factors such as the customer’s payment method, card type, country, currency, and whether currency conversion or cross-border processing is involved.
Example Transaction Fee Scenarios #
| Scenario | Typical Fee Structure |
|---|---|
| Buyer pays in GBP, seller receives GBP | Standard domestic payment processing fees may apply |
| Buyer pays in a foreign currency | Additional currency conversion or cross-border processing fees may apply |
| International card payments | Additional international card processing fees may apply |
Example Payout Calculation
Based on a customer paying £120 (for example, a £100 product plus £20 VAT):
- Platform commission: £0 during your launch period
- Payment processing fees are deducted by the payment provider
- The remaining balance is transferred to the seller’s connected payout account
Final payout amounts may vary depending on payment method, currency conversion, refunds, disputes, or international processing fees.
What happens after the launch period? #
A competitive platform commission will apply once the 0% launch period ends. Any future commission changes will always be communicated clearly in advance.
Why do sellers pay processing fees? #
Our payment provider securely processes customer payments and transfers earnings directly to sellers. These processing fees are standard within the payments industry and are charged by the payment provider rather than retained by the marketplace.
