Classic barber pole sign

A classic barber pole glowing outside a shop. It used to mean barber-surgeons who cut hair and performed medical procedures like bloodletting, tooth extractions and minor surgeries!

The red symbolises blood, the white represents bandages, and the blue is sometimes said to stand for veins or was added later for patriotic colours in some countries.

In medieval times, barbers were often more trusted than surgeons because they were more skilled with sharp tools.
