Sellers receive payouts in the currency supported by their connected payout account, which is usually based on the country where their bank or wallet is registered. The marketplace’s base currency or the currency used at checkout by the customer does not directly determine the payout currency.
For example:
- The marketplace operates in GBP and a customer pays in USD, but the seller’s account is set up to receive EUR. The seller’s earnings will be converted to EUR before payout.
- If the seller’s account supports multiple currencies, the payment provider will automatically choose the most compatible one based on the account’s configuration.
The marketplace calculates commission and order values in its internal base currency, but the actual payout is handled by the payment system in the seller’s local payout currency.
