Account & Data Deletion Policy
At Light Ideas, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can delete your account, what happens when you do, and what information may be retained for legal or operational reasons.
How to delete your account
You can request account and data deletion in either of the following ways:
- From your account (if available):
Log in to your account and follow the account deletion option in your profile or account settings. - By email:
Send a request to hello@lightideas.com from the email address associated with your account. Please include “Account Deletion Request” in the subject line.
For security, we may ask you to confirm your identity before proceeding.
What is deleted
When your request is processed, we will permanently remove:
- Your user account
- Profile information (name, email address, avatar, bio, etc.)
- Community content that is directly tied to your identity, where feasible
- Social login connections (for example, Facebook or Google)
If you are a seller, this also includes your public seller profile and shop access.
What may be retained
In some cases, we may be required to retain limited information for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes, such as:
- Transaction and order records
- Invoices and financial data
- Records required by law or regulatory obligations
This retained data is kept securely, is not publicly visible, and is used only for compliance purposes.
Timeframe
We aim to process all account and data deletion requests within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days of verification.
Important notes
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Any content that must be retained for legal reasons will no longer be associated with your public profile.
- If you created your account using Facebook or Google, deleting your Light Ideas account does not affect your Facebook or Google account.
